MRT Jakarta is free for women on Kartini Day (Ist)

JAKARTA - In commemoration of Kartini Day, PT Moda Raya Terpadu or MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) made free public transportation services starting tomorrow, April 21. This free promo is also valid again on April 24, commemorating National Transportation Day.

Ahmad Pratomo as Head of the Corporate Secretary Division of PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) said this policy is part of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government's efforts to encourage increased use of public transportation and strengthen commitments to sustainable urban development.

PT MRT Jakarta is committed to supporting the policy of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government in increasing the accessibility of public transportation which is comfortable, safe, and efficient for the community. This free service program is part of the appreciation of the role of women on Kartini Day and the importance of public transportation on National Transportation Day," he said in a written statement, Sunday, April 20.

Ensuring the smooth implementation of the program, the MRT will coordinate with the DKI Jakarta Provincial Transportation Service (Dishub).

For free travel tomorrow, the public can access through the use of electronic money cards and the JakLingko application.

Meanwhile, on April 24, you can use all payment methods through e-wallet, digital bank, credit card, BNPL in the MyMRTJ application, MyMRTJ Lite ticket sales machine, JakLingko, and various electronic money cards.

Previously, DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung said he would make public transportation services free in Jakarta, including Transjakarta, MRT Jakarta, and LRT Jakarta on Monday, April 21.

This free public transportation service to commemorate Kartini Day is specifically for women. Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo, said that a special lane or gate would be prepared for women when entering a bus stop or station.

"The mechanism for later is at every bus stop and a station a special gate is prepared for women so that women can directly cross the gate and then get free service directly," said Syafrin in the CFD Sudirman-Thamrin area, Central Jakarta.
