Head of the Garut Police Samapta Unit, AKP Ardiyanto, said that the palm wine packaged in jerry cans was confiscated from routine raids found in two places in the Karangpawitan District.
"This raid is part of a routine operation aimed at suppressing the circulation of alcohol in the jurisdiction of the Garut Police," said Ardiyanto in Garut, Sunday, quoted by Antara.
He said that the disclosure of traditional liquor stems from reports from the public who feel uneasy about the existence of a place to store alcoholic drinks.
The police confiscated the palm wine in two different places, the first confiscated seven jerry cans in Sindangpayy Village, Saturday, April 19 in the morning, then eight jerry cans in Sindanggalih Village, Karangpawitan District, early Sunday morning.
"Evidence of alcohol and the perpetrators is currently being secured at the Garut Police Headquarters for processing in accordance with applicable regulations," he said.
