JAKARTA - PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) noted, as many as 87,077 customers of Foreign Citizens (WNA) have taken advantage of the taxi mode of transportation during January-March 2025.

Vice President of Public Relations of PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Anne Purba said, this figure increased by 79.9 percent compared to the same period in 2024, which was 48,391 customers.

"This spike shows that the HIGH Speed Train is not only in demand by the domestic community, but has also become the main choice for foreign tourists who come to Indonesia," Anne said in a written statement, Saturday, April 19.

The increase in the number of foreigners' customers looks significant since the beginning of the year. In January 2025, badminton served 35,881 foreign customers, a significant increase of 167.9 percent compared to January 2024 which recorded 13,387 customers.

Meanwhile, in February 2025, the number reached 35,914 customers, growing by 70.8 percent compared to February 2024 as many as 21,026 customers.

Meanwhile, in March 2025, 15,282 foreign customers recorded an increase of 9.3 percent from the same month the previous year, which was 13,978 customers.

According to Anne, the trend of this increase reflects the advantage of Rights as a modern mode of transportation that is able to answer the needs of international tourists, especially in terms of speed, comfort and ease of access.

"With a travel time of about 40 minutes from Jakarta to Bandung, high-speed trains provide extraordinary efficiency for foreign tourists, especially those who have limited time but want to explore more destinations," he said.

Based on citizenship, the most foreigners customers from January to March 2025 came from Malaysia, followed by Singapore and China. These three countries make a major contribution to the surge in the number of foreign passengers who choose to useASH as their means of transportation.

This condition is in line with the positive trend of tourist visits from Southeast Asia and China to Indonesia.

The increase in the number of foreigners' customers is also an indicator that Indonesia's tourism promotion strategy, which is integrated with easy access to transportation, has begun to show positive results.

"In the future, we will continue to innovate so thatRATEsh will not only be the pride of national transportation, but also a symbol of Indonesia's progress which is able to compete globally," concluded Anne.
