Denying PSI, Bank DKI Affirms KJP Recipients Can Still Be Transactioned Through EDC Machines

JAKARTA - President Director of PT Bank DKI Agus H. Widodo denied the statement by the Indonesian Solidarity Party PSI which stated that the recipients of the Jakarta Smart Card (KJP) Plus could not use the social assistance funds for educational purposes.

According to Agus, KJP Plus users can still make transactions using Bank DKI's electronic data capture (EDC) machine. Given, transactions for disbursing KJP funds are carried out in the internal banking system of Bank DKI, so they are not affected by interference with interbank transaction services.

"Well, social assistance is not funds going out to other banks, the term is on us. So because it's in us too, it can, there are no disturbances. All kinds of KJP can be disbursed," Agus said in his statement, Friday, April 18.

KJP Plus holders, continued Agus, can transact directly at partner stores through EDC Bank DKI. This service allows the purchase of daily needs and education without the need to withdraw cash.

"Bank DKI affirms its commitment to support the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government's programs and ensures that the distribution of social assistance runs safely, precisely, and transparently," he said.

For information, KJP recipients can make cash withdrawals of IDR 100,000 at Bank DKI ATMs. If through Bank DKI EDC, the recipient can check the balance and make shopping transactions for food subsidies and school needs.

Previously, a member of Commission E of the DKI Jakarta DPRD from the PSI faction, Elva Farhi Qolbina, said that the KJP Plus recipients could not buy their educational necessities using Bank DKI.

"We received news that there are so many Jakarta residents who receive KJP Plus who have difficulty buying necessities for their children's education using Bank DKI services," said Elva.

In fact, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has started disbursing the 2025 KJP Plus Phase I funds since April 8, 2025.

Until now, many KJP Plus recipients have not been able to pay for their needs using the bank. Meanwhile, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government itself has started disbursing the 2025 KJP Plus Phase I funds," said Elva.
