Police Investigate Visitor Incident Falls From Pendulum Wahana At East Java Park 1

JAKARTA - The Batu Resort Police (Polres) in East Java (East Java) conducted an investigation into the incident of the fall of a visitor R (14) from the 360 Pendulum ride in the East Java Park (JTP) 1 playground.

Head of the Batu Police Criminal Investigation Unit, AKP Rudi Kiswoyo, said officers had been dispatched to the location to carry out the crime scene processing process to find out the cause of the incident.

"We have conducted a crime scene investigation to investigate the incident," said Rudi in Batu, Friday, April 18, as reported by Antara.

In addition, so far, six people have been questioned regarding the incident, namely the victim, the victim's parents, the vehicle operator, the ride operator captain, the medical team, and tourism management.

"We conducted an in-depth investigation by examining other witnesses to find out whether there was an element of negligence in the incident," he said.

Rudi explained that on Tuesday, April 8, the victim and his three friends visited JTP 1 at 09.00 WIB. Then, at 15.30 the victim and his friends queue to buy a ticket for the Pendulum 360 ride.

"At 16.00 WIB the victim was riding a ride and sitting in seat number five," he said.

Rudi said that before the vehicle was operated, the officers on guard there checked the security side of visitors, including ensuring that the seat belt condition was locked, as stipulated in effect.

But when the vehicle was operated suddenly the security belt that the victim had worn and had been checked by officers suddenly released.

"The victim was swayed, held on to the body's safety, then the victim was thrown from the seat of the ride and fell down," he said.

Knowing the incident, the ride operator immediately took action by stopping the operation of Pendulum 360. The victim who fell was immediately evacuated by medical personnel to the clinic at JTP 1 to get help.

"The victim received treatment, his condition was conscious. He suffered an injury to his right calf, allegedly a fracture and palm pain," he said.

Then, JTP 1 management immediately took the victim to the Baptist Hospital, in Batu City to get further medical treatment. However, at around 20.00 WIB R he was referred to the Persada Husada Hospital in Malang City because of the victim's family's request.

"From the statement of Persada Husada Hospital, Malang City, the victim suffered a broken bone of two right calf, a broken right hand middle finger and a broken right hand ring finger," he said.
