BOGOR - Mayor of Bogor Bima Arya handed over religious grants worth IDR 1.45 billion to 58 mosques in the city of Bogor. With this assistance, Bima Arya hopes that the mosque will grow.
"From a grant of IDR 1.45 billion for 58 mosques in the city of Bogor, it means that each mosque receives IDR 25 million in assistance. The amount is not yet ideal, but it is hoped that it will provide a blessing", said Bima Arya in Bogor as quoted by Antara, Wednesday, April 28.
He hopes that religious grants can be utilized optimally and become a stimulus to bring in assistance from other parties.
"God willing, it will be a blessing and the mosques will become more magnificent and prosperous. I pray that the mosques in the city of Bogor can become magnificent and prosperous, as well as benefit and blessings", he said.
Head of the Public Welfare Section of the Bogor City Government, Asep Kartiwa, added that this religious grant is an annual routine program from the Bogor City Government in the religious sector.
"In the years before the COVID-19 pandemic, the handover of this grant was carried out at traveling tarawih activities. This year, because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the aid was handed over symbolically", he said.
According to Asep Kartiwa, efforts are made to increase the nominal value of this religious grant every year. In the previous year, the amount of assistance was IDR 15 million for each mosque and this year it has increased to IDR 25 million.
"The grant budget can be used by DKM (Mosque Prosperity Council) by the proposal submitted to us, it could be for infrastructure or something else", he said.
The aid was symbolically handed over by Bima Arya at the Al-Qomar Mosque, Veteran Street, Kebon Kalapa Village, Central Bogor District, Bogor City. The chairman of the Al-Qomar Mosque DKM, Erwin Iskandar, expressed his gratitude to the Bogor City Government for the grant.
"This religious grant program is very useful, especially for us DKM to make this mosque prosperous. Hopefully, this program can inspire us to worship Allah SWT", he said.
