PT GEB Refuses To Use Chinese Foreign Workers From Palembang

DENPASAR - PT General Energy Bali (GEB) refuses to use 25 Chinese Foreign Workers (TKA) from Palembang to be employed at PLTU Celukan Bawang, Bali. The plan to bring in the workers was not right.

"That is not true," said Indriati Tanu Tanto, Vice Manager General Affair Department of PT General Energy Bali, Saturday, April 9, 2020.

This explanation is at the same time able to reduce the anxiety of the Buleleng residents. They were anxious because they received information that PT GEB plans to bring in workers from China in the near future. The anxiety is due to the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.

For information, even though they came from China, during the Covid-19 pandemic, not once did the 25 workers return to their home countries.

Indonesia still prohibits Chinese citizens from entering Indonesian territory to prevent the spread of a new type of corona virus. And that policy has not been revoked until now. That is also what makes dozens of GEB workers from China unable to return to Buleleng.

However, this condition was not the basis for GEB to then use other foreign workers from China. PT GEB confirmed that none of the 25 workers were in Bali.
