JAKARTA - The Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) has denied the issue of the cause of the postponement of the VI Congress because there has been no replacement for the Secretary-General, Hasto Kristiyanto, who is still undergoing trial at the Central Jakarta District Court.
"There is no such issue," said the chairman of the PDIP DPP, Yasonna Laoly, to reporters, at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday, April 17.
Yasonna emphasized that the schedule for the Congress would be set directly by the General Chairperson of the PDIP, Megawati Soekarnoputri. He revealed that all party cadres bearing the bull symbol were also waiting for the decision.
"Yes, we don't know yet, it depends on the general chairman. We'll just have to wait for the general chairman's order," said Yasonna.
Yasonna admitted that there were no significant obstacles that made the party congress postponed. It's just that, he said, technical problems such as careful preparation and operational costs of Congress have not been fully completed.
