Ganjar Temani Hasto Jalani Trial Allegedly Bribery PAW

JAKARTA - The trial of the alleged obstruction case of investigation and bribery in the management of interim replacement (PAW) members of the DPR for the 2019-2024 period with the defendant Secretary General of PDIP, Hasto Kristiyanto, was again held today. A number of political figures were present at the trial, one of whom was Ganjar Pranowo.

Ganjar is seen wearing a black shirt. Not many statements were made from his mouth. The former Presidential Candidate (Capres) for the 2024-2029 period only mentioned his presence to support Hasto Kristiyanto.

"Oh yes, we always support. The spirit is for Mas Hasto, to be able to deal with this smoothly and firmly," said Ganjar, Thursday, April 17.

At this trial, the public prosecutor (JPU) will present three witnesses, one of whom is the former commissioner of the Indonesian General Elections Commission (KPU), Wahyu Setiawan.

Meanwhile, two other witnesses were former chairman of the Indonesian KPU, Arief Budiman and former commissioner of the Indonesian Bawaslu Agustiani Tio Fridelina.

The names of the three witnesses who will be presented are confirmed by Hasto's attorney, Ronny Talapessy, "That's right,".

At the trial later, Hasto Kristiyanto's camp will highlight Wahyu's statement regarding the source of bribes for the management of PAW Harun Masiku as charged.

"For witness Wahyu, we will highlight it right because at the previous trial in 2020 we have signed the bribes from Harun Masiku and Saiful Bahri," said Ronny.

If later there is a change in information, then, Ronny said that this matter proves that there is politicization in the Hasto Kristiyanto case.

"This is what we call evidence of legal politicization," said Ronny.

For information, Hasto was charged with obstructing the investigation by ordering Harun, through the Aspiration House guard, Nur Hasan, to submerge Harun's cell phone into the water after the arrests by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) against members of the General Election Commission (KPU) for the 2017-2022 period Wahyu Setiawan.

Not only Harun Masiku's cellphone, Hasto is also said to have ordered his aide, Kusnadi, to drown his cell phone in anticipation of forced attempts by KPK investigators.

In addition to obstructing investigations, Hasto was also charged together with advocate Donny Tri Istiqomah; the former convict of the Harun Masiku case, Saeful Bahri; and Harun Masiku gave money amounting to 57,350 Singapore dollars or equivalent to Rp600 million to Wahyu in the 2019-2020 period.

The money is allegedly given with the aim that Wahyu strives for the KPU to approve the request for an interim replacement (PAW) for the Elected Legislative Candidate for the Electoral Region (Dapil) of South Sumatra (Sumsel) I on behalf of the Members of the DPR for the 2019-2024 period Riezky Aprilia to Harun Masiku.

Thus, Hasto is threatened with a crime as regulated in Article 21 and Article 5 Paragraph (1) letter a or Article 13 of Law (UU) Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended and supplemented by Law Number 20 of 2001 in conjunction with Article 65 Paragraph (1) and Article 55 Paragraph (1) 1 jo. Article 64 Paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code.
