Russia Destroys 7 Drones Of Ukrainian Counterattack Target Missile Brigade Accused Of Brain Attack On Sumy

JAKARTA - The Russian military destroyed seven Ukrainian unmanned aircraft in Russia's Ivanovo region, the location of one of Kyiv's two missile brigades that Kyiv accused of carrying out a deadly attack on the city of Sumy on weekends.

The Ukrainian HUR military intelligence agency called Russia's 121st missile brigade the party that attacked Sumy on Sunday that killed 35 people.

Russia's Defense Ministry said efforts to attack Ukraine on Wednesday, April 16, against Ivanovo were carried out by drones in the morning.

Russia did not mention the missile brigade based in the region, but local media reported they had been targeted.

"According to operational data from the head office, there were no casualties and two people who suffered minor injuries received medical assistance," said the local government of Ivanovo.

"The emergency notice system is functioning normally. No evacuations have been announced. Emergency service specialists are handling the consequences," the Russian military continued.

The Ukrainian military said on Tuesday it attacked a base in Russia's Kursk region belonging to its 448th missile brigade, another brigade allegedly Kyiv involved in the Sumy attack.

Meanwhile, the Russian military said on the same day it had intercepted or destroyed 109 Ukrainian unmanned aircraft in the Kursk region overnight.

A woman was killed in the Ukrainian attack, local authorities said.
