The Ministry Of Law And Human Rights Predicts That The Trial Of Paulus Tannos' Detention Lawsuit In Singapore Will Be Held In June 2025

The Directorate General (Ditjen) of General Legal Administration (AHU) of the Ministry of Law (Kemenkum) stated that the trial of the lawsuit filed by Paulus Tannos was predicted to take place in June 2025.

Paulus Tannos is known to have sued the arrest and temporary detention or provisional arrest at the Singapore Court.

"It is predicted that the trial will be in June," said Directorate General of AHU Widodo to reporters quoted Wednesday, April 16.

However, Widodo hopes that Paulus Tannos' camp will not take legal action after being arrested by Singaporean authorities. That way the extradition process will proceed faster

"Immediately the determination (extradition) is fast. So, because this is already related to the jurisdiction of Singapore's national law authority, we cannot intervene. We are just waiting for the results of the verdict," he said.

Currently, the Singapore government is asking for documents for the extradition process of Paulus Tannos. To complete it, the Ministry of Law and Human Rights must coordinate with the KPK.

"All the documents have been submitted, they are complete, but there are several things that need to be emphasized, maybe from some evidence, yes, related to the affidivity and so on," he said.

"The request for additional documents from his Attorney General Chambers, Singapore, asks for supporting documents related to the commitment fee that strengthens the case," continued Widodo.

One of the files that must be completed for the extradition process is in the form of evidence in the Tannos case.

It is planned that the documents requested by Singapore to complete the extradition process of Paulus Tannos will be delivered before the end of April 2025.

Paulus Tannos, who is the President Director of PT Sandipala Arthapura, was finally arrested by Singaporean authorities after being on the wanted list since 2021. He was named a suspect in the corruption case in the procurement of electronic identity cards (e-KTP) by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) in 2019.

At that time Paulus Tannos was named a suspect by the KPK along with three other people, namely Isnu Edhi Wijaya as former President Director of the State Printing Corporation of the Republic of Indonesia (PNRI); member of the 2014-2019 DPRRI Miryam S Haryani; and former Head of the Information Technology Technical Team for the Implementation of e-KTP Husni Fahmi.

In repatriation through the extradition process, a number of required files include a request letter from the Minister of Law; legalization certificate; identity; resummation to a letter from the Attorney General. All of them have been fulfilled by both the Ministry of Law, the KPK and the Attorney General's Office.
