Asan Sampit Hajj Airport Serves 5,039 Eid Backflow Homecomers Until April 11

Haji Hasan Airport serves 5,039 travelers who come and leave during the backflow of Eid al-Fitr 1446 Hijri/2025 until April 11, 2025.

"The number of passengers on the backflow is based on the calculation from April 1 to April 11, 2025, with details of the number of passengers boarding as many as 2,729 passengers and passengers dropping 2,310 passengers," said Head of Emergency Operations and Security Engineering at Asan Sampit Hajj Airport Tedy Rachmajadi R as reported by ANTARA, Saturday, April 12.

He added that until the closing of the Lebaran period, the passengers were still significant, all full, even though the ticket price had returned to normal since April 8, 2025.

Passenger traffic during the return flow period began to show an increase since April 5, 2025 and this condition was still standing until the Eid Al-Fitr 1446 Hijri service post at Asan Sampit Hajj Airport was closed.

It is estimated that backflow activity will still take place even though the 2025 Eid transportation period has been completed.

Flight services remain open, so that the next passenger can still be accommodated properly.

"Alhamdulillah, as long as this backflow has no significant problems, there was only a delay for one and a half hours due to weather factors, but the rest went smoothly," he said.

Facing the flow of homecoming and return to Lebaran 2025, Asan Sampit Hajj Airport together with a number of related agencies activated the Eid al-Fitr 1446 Hijri service post which took effect on March 21-April 11, 2025.

Based on data, the number of passengers during this year's Eid al-Fitr service post increased by more than 100 percent compared to last year in the same period.

The accumulated number of passengers during the Eid al-Fitr 2025 service post reached 10,209 people, consisting of 5,170 passengers on the homecoming flow and 5,039 passengers on the backflow.

Meanwhile, the total number of passengers during the Eid al-Fitr service post in 2024 was only 4,304 people, including 2,159 passengers on the homecoming flow and 2,145 passengers on the backflow.

According to him, there are several things that affect the number of passengers at the only airport in East Waringin City.

Last year there were two airlines that opened services in Kotim, namely Nam Air for the Sampit-Jakarta route and Wings Air for the Sampit-Surabaya route.

At that time, Nam Air's maximum capacity was only 120 passengers, while Wings Air was 70 passengers and for Wings Air it did not serve flights every day," he said.

Then, in mid-2024 for operational reasons Wings Air no longer opens services at Asan Sampit Hajj Airport, so there is only one airline left, namely Nam Air.

However, Nam Air is gradually improving services.

Starting from an increased capacity from 120 to 130 passengers and adding two flight routes, namely Sampit-Surabaya and Sampit-Semarang.

The current regular flight schedule at Asan Sampit Hajj Airport includes the Sampit-Jakarta Go Home (PP) route every day, Sampit-Semarang PP every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, then Sampit-Surabaya PP on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

"With the increase in aircraft capacity and flight routes, there was a surge in passengers compared to the previous year," he said.
