JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung said the public health center (puskesmas) in Jakarta will be a place for drug rehabilitation so that users can escape dependence and live a healthy life.

This was revealed by Pramono after a meeting with the Head of the Indonesian National Narcotics Agency (BNN) Martinus Hukom to discuss drug eradication in Jakarta.

"We offer cooperation for those like this that the rehabilitation must be carried out properly and openly. Jakarta will use existing health centers to be a place for rehabilitation for victims. Not the quotes as the main actors," said Pramono at DKI City Hall, Central Jakarta, Friday, April 11.

According to Pramono, drug addicts are actually victims, as long as they don't act as dealers. So, they must be helped to be cured.

"Actually, there is rehabilitation of drugs, this is a user who is the victim. Not a user who is then active as a dealer as well as a dealer, seller and so on. But this is indeed a victim," said Pramono.

Then, Pramono said that the DKI Provincial Government will also help BNN to seek preventive measures such as socialization of drug prevention and other addictive substances.

"Including then the next is early detection of areas prone to drugs in Jakarta," said Pramono.

In this regard, the Head of the Indonesian National Narcotics Agency, Martinus Hukom, said that his party mapped three areas or villages prone to drug abuse. Among them are Kampung Bahari in Tanjung Priok, Kampung Boncos in Palmerah, and Kampung Permata or Kampung Ambon in Kedaung Kaliangke.

From the results of the BNN mapping, the activity of drug abuse of the public as a user and narcotics dealer in the three villages has become a cycle of crime.

"Of course, this drug has money there, so people and dealers depend on each other," said Martinus.

Therefore, to eradicate drugs in vulnerable areas, BNN will carry out countermeasures by separating users and dealers. Then, arrest the dealers and dealers, and rehabilitate drug users.

On the one hand, Martinus did not deny that there were government officials or officials protecting drug-prone villages to continue to carry out their operations. However, he emphasized that BNN would fully investigate who the person who abused his authority was.

"It's not just local government personnel. I will clean up the police officers involved. I will clean up the BNN involved, I will clean it up. That's my commitment. I'm not playing games. We already know. We are slowly mapping the land, who is involved there," he added.
