Boat Overturned On The Atsj Asmat River, One Person Is Missing

TIMIKA - A passenger who is missing from a motorboat overturned in Muara Atsj, Asmat, Papua, has not been found.

Head of the Timika SAR Office, George Mercy L. Rumandang, said the search for the missing victim was carried out until Tuesday, April 27 evening.

The personnel involved in the search for the passenger of the missing ketinting motorboat consisted of three Rescuer personnel of the Agats SAR Post, plus one Indonesian Navy personnel and one Polairud Asmat personnel.

They used the RIB 85 PK boat to search the waters around the location of the incident on the local people's ketinting motorboat which capsized on Monday, April 26 evening.

In addition, the victim's family also helped carry out the search.

"The joint SAR team has traced the location of the incident and the coast of Muara Atsj. During the search, the team only found a ketinting boat, which was almost completely submerged, while the missing victims had not been found. The search will continue tomorrow morning starting at 06.00 WIT," explained George as quoted by Antara. .

The sea accident that hit a ketinting motorboat belonging to a resident in Muara Atsj was just reported to the Agats Asmat SAR Post this morning by the victim's relative named Daniel.

Daniel said the ketinting boat with four passengers capsized after being hit by waves at Muara Atsj on Monday, April 26.

Three passengers were reported to have survived, namely Wepi, Emi and Oto. While the missing victim is known as Linus.

The three of them survived after trying to swim to the beach. Meanwhile, the fate of one other passenger is unknown.
