Kahiyang Ayu Brings One Thousand Elderly In Medan To Get Vaccinated For COVID-19

MEDAN - The Medan Family Welfare Empowerment Team (TP PKK) brought 1,000 elderly people to be vaccinated for COVID-19. This vaccination is in commemoration of Kartini Day.

"Medan City brought 1,000 elderly people to be vaccinated for the vaccination implementation held by the North Sumatra PKK TP," said Kahiyang Ayu, head of the PKK Medan City TP at the TP PKK Medan office, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, April 27.

The daughter of President Joko Widodo said that the presence of this elderly person is an effort to support the accelerated vaccination program and break the chain of spreading the COVID-19 virus.

Kahiyang Ayu hopes that all residents of Medan City, both the elderly and other people, apply health protocols when doing activities, even though they have been vaccinated.

"Apart from the elderly who have been vaccinated, they must remain disciplined in implementing health protocols to avoid the spread of COVID-19," said the wife of the Mayor of Medan, Bobby Nasution.

Meanwhile, the Secretary of the PKK North Sumatra Province, Reza Pahlevi Lubis, explained that the vaccination has a target of around 3,000 elderly and companions for six days from 27 April-5 May.

"We are targeting all elderly people in North Sumatra to get vaccinated against COVID-19. For this reason, we hope that the district / city TP PKK will also vaccinate the elderly, because they are susceptible to coronavirus," he said.
