Dismissing KKB Hoaxes, Dandim: Victims In Simple Rivers Are Civilians, Not TNI

JAYAPURA - Commander of Kodim 1715/Yahukimo Lt. Col. Inf. Tommy Yudistyo denied that the gold collector who was the victim of the KKB murder in Kali Site, the border between Yahukimo Regency and Asmat Regency, was a member of the TNI.

"The victim is certainly not a member of the TNI, so what KKB stated is hoax news, lies, or is not true," said Dandim Yahukimo Lt. Col. Inf. Tommy Yudistyo to ANTARA in Yahukimo, Wednesday, April 9.

Contacted from Jayapura, Dandim 1715/Yahukimo said the KKB deliberately spread information by stating that the victim was a member of the TNI, even though the victim was a civilian who gained gold.

Lt. Col. Inf Tommy added that until now it is not certain how many civilians work as gold collectors and become victims of the KKB's ferocity because of its remote location and at the border.

To reach this location, said Lt. Col. Inf. Tommy Yudistyo, from Dekai, the capital of Yahukimo Regency, must use a helicopter, while from Asmat Regency you can use a motorboat by walking along the river.

"The perpetrators of the attack and murder against the offender were allegedly carried out by the Yahukimo KKB led by Elkius Kobak, Sunday (6/4)," said Dandim Yahukimo Lt. Col. Inf Tommy.
