Jalan Ksattan X East Jakarta Collapses, Residents Must Turn Two Kilometers

JAKARTA The Jalan Ksatrian X section in Berlan, Kebon Manggis, Matraman District, East Jakarta, collapsed due to the landslide on the side of the Ciliwung River which was affected by ground movement.

Head of the Kelurahan Deliberation Institute (LMK) RW 03 Kebon Manggis, Rudi Hartono, revealed that the initial cracks on the road had actually been seen some time ago, but were not immediately handled by related parties.

"His brain has been running slowly since Saturday. The landslide incident finally happened at night," Rudi said when confirmed, Tuesday, April 8.

He explained that since the beginning of the crack, his party had written several times to the Kelurahan, District, and Ciliwung Cisadane River Basin Center (BBWSCC), but there had been no follow-up.

"We have reported it, but there has been no serious handling. Even though this is the responsibility of BBWSCC," he explained.

Rudi added that the collapsed road was the main access for residents to Manggarai Station and the surrounding area. Now, residents have to turn two kilometers to reach their destination.

"No residents are isolated, but access is far away. Residents hope that BBWSCC will immediately intervene to repair this road," he said.

East Jakarta City Government Response

Responding to this incident, the Acting Mayor of East Jakarta, Iin Mutmainnah, stated that his party had communicated with BBWSCC regarding the damage.

"We have submitted a written report from the kelurahan and sub-district. And from the city level it has also been communicated," explained Iin.

He added that the City Government will continue to encourage coordination so that road access for residents can be repaired immediately.
