JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) sent several personnel to help earthquake victims with 7.7 magnitudes that hit Myanmar.

The Head of DKI Jakarta BPBD, Isnawa Adji, said that his party gave permission and blessing to the East Jakarta Regional Coordinator Disaster Control Officer (P2B) to join the team to go to Myanmar.

"They are Acep Sumantri (on a joint request from the Sabhawana Alumni Association) and Marwan (on a joint request from Baznas). I allow them to leave to help earthquake victims there. Join the Indonesian rescue team and give their best to help our brothers and sisters," Isnawa said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, April 2.

This humanitarian aid by the government is a form of solidarity with the affected residents by sending a search and rescue operation team (SAR) to Myanmar.

Isnawa hopes that this humanitarian mission can have a positive impact on people affected by the disaster.

"With the spirit of solidarity and cross-institutional cooperation, it is hoped that assistance can be distributed optimally to those in need," he said.

The team served from March 31 to April 15, 2025, focusing on efforts to rescue victims and distribution of aid in affected areas.

In the release of the joint team which was held this Wednesday, representatives from various parties involved in this humanitarian mission were also present.
