Medan Farmer Imam Kurniawan, Who Comments On Abusing The Wife Of The Nanggala-402 KRI Crew, Is A Suspect

MEDAN - As a result of commenting on harassing the wife of the submarine crew KRI Nanggala-402, the owner of the Facebook account Imam Kurniawan was named a suspect.

The man, who daily works as a farmer in Medan, was named by the police as a suspect under the suspicion of the Electronic Information and Transaction Law (ITE).

"His status has been declared a suspect", said Head of Public Relations of the North Sumatra Regional Police, Kombes Hadi Wahyudi, Tuesday, April 27.

Imam Kurniawan whose comments abused the wife of the KRI crew in Nanggala-402 was charged with Article 28 paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 45A paragraph (2) Law Number 19/2016 concerning amendments to Law Number 11/2008 on ITE.

This case is now being handled by the North Sumatra Regional Police. Suspect Imam Kurniawan, said Hadi, has also been detained.

"The person concerned admitted that he indeed posted inappropriate words", he said.

Imam Kurniawan's post was excited because he commented on the upload of the Facebook group 'Alliance of All Indonesian Coolie, which is a photo and condolences for the sinking of KRI Nanggala-402.

Imam Kurniawan replied to the post by writing insulting sentences against the wife of the KRI Nanggala-402 crew. Imam, a farmer who lives in Marelan, Medan City, said that his Facebook account was hijacked. He had apologized for the upheaval caused by comments on his Facebook account.
