Hit By Strong Winds And Rain, Residents' Houses In Lebak Collapse

JAKARTA - A resident's house in Lebak Regency, Banten Province collapsed in strong winds and heavy rains in the area.

"Luckily, the collapsed houses inhabited by four people were not injured or injured," said Elsa Sri Mulyanti, a resident of Rangkasbitung, Lebak Regency, as reported by ANTARA.

The incident of the house collapsed belonging to Asan (70), a resident of Munjul Leutik RT02/RW 08 Margajaya Village, Cimarga District, Lebak Regency, Tuesday at 03.00 am after being hit by strong winds accompanied by heavy rain.

The condition of the house that was rotten and made of bamboo booths and wooden support poles collapsed to the level of the ground.

Currently, he said, the Asan family was forced to live with relatives who were not far from the scene.

The victim, who works as a laborer on a daily basis and sometimes works as a rubber sap eavesdropper, was unable to rebuild his house.

"We as the victim's family hope for assistance from the local government as well as philanthropists or humanitarian institutions to rebuild the house," Elsa explained.

Meanwhile, Head of the Lebak Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Febby Rizky Pratama said that his party had not received a report from the sub-district volunteers that residents' houses were affected by strong winds accompanied by heavy rains.

Previously, his party told the public to be vigilant during Eid when hit by bad weather.

"We ask residents to remain vigilant in the face of extreme weather," he said.
