JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of Home Affairs (Wamendagri) Bima Arya emphasized that the use of official car facilities for state civil servants (ASN) is not allowed for Lebaran homecoming activities because it is part of state assets.

He explained that the use of all state facilities, including official cars, is only for public duties and services because these facilities are state assets so that damage must be minimized so as not to harm the state.

"Official cars are state assets, state facilities that should be used for matters related to public duties and services, especially since there is a risk of damage that may have an impact on state losses," said Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Bima as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, March 31.

His party will give warnings and sanctions to the Mayor of Depok who allows state civil servants (ASN) to use official cars to go home to their hometowns during Lebaran 2025.

The Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, Bima, said that sanctions for those concerned would later be given through personnel guidance in the area, namely the Governor of West Java Province, Dedi Mulyadi.

"This is a rule that has not changed. It has not changed. So we will reprimand it. The sanctions will be delivered later by each staffing coach. The governor will definitely give the sanctions," he said.

Therefore, he also reminded all regional heads to comply with existing regulations related to the prohibition of the use of state facilities, including official cars for personal matters.

Earlier on Friday (28/3), Depok Mayor Supian Suri said he allowed ASN in the Depok city government to use official cars for Eid homecoming.

Supian said the official car used for homecoming is a form of appreciation for their dedication while becoming ASN.

"Not all of them (ASN) have vehicles, so it is hoped that it can help as an appreciation of their dedication so far, so we allow it," said Supian.

He also explained that the official car owned by several ASN officials is an inherent responsibility even though they travel.

This is one of Supian Suri's bases for allowing his employees to use official cars for homecoming.
