JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) opened a VIP room for disabled travelers departing from Pasar Senen Station, Jakarta, on D-2 Lebaran, Saturday.

"For the group of friends with disabilities, a VIP room has been entered," said Public Relations Manager of PT KAI Operational Area (Daop) 1 Jakarta, Ixfan Hendriwintoko in Jakarta.

Homecomers are also invited to enter the nearest waiting room with the departure route.

One of the passengers with disabilities, Putri Windi Aulia (29) from South Tangerang, who departed on the Sawunggalih Train to Kutoarjo Station, Central Java, appreciated the improvement of services for travelers with disabilities from PT KAI every year.

"From previous years, this year has started to get better, access has started to be friendly, many have helped too," said Putri.

He admitted that he received information about disability-friendly homecoming from PT KAI Indonesia's social media two months ago. Today, he left with his husband and daughter.

Putri hopes that services to friends with disabilities will continue to be improved every year, especially for toilet services in carriages.

To note, PT KAI recorded 27,934 passengers departing for homecoming from Pasar Senen Station, Central Jakarta, on D-2 Lebaran, Saturday.

"As of today, Saturday (29/3), 27,934 departing passengers with 103 percent occupancy," said Ixfan.

He said there were 42 trips from Pasar Senen Station with 27,156 available seats. Meanwhile, from Gambir Station, there were 21,762 passengers departing with occupancy reaching 102 percent.

For this reason, PT KAIDaop 1 recorded a total departure of travelers today from Gambir Station and Pasar Senen as many as 49,696 passengers with a total of 87 trips and occupancy reaching 103 percent.
