JAKARTA - Five people were injured in a stabbing incident in downtown Amsterdam, police said in the Dutch capital on Thursday, March 27.
"In a stabbing incident at Sint Nicolaasstraat near Dam Square, five people were injured. One perpetrator has been detained," Amsterdam police said on platform X, citing ANTARA, Friday, March 28.
They asked the Dutch to provide any documentation they had regarding the incident.

"The victims are 67-year-old women and 69-year-old men, both citizens of the United States; male Polish citizen 26 years old; 73-year-old woman from Belgium, and a 19-year-old Amsterdam resident," police said.
The suspect was arrested with the help of local residents, Amsterdam police said, but his motive is not yet known.
"The police are considering the possibility of the perpetrator attacking the victim randomly, but the exact motive is still unclear," they said.
