JAKARTA - Russia's Ministry of Defense said Ukraine launched three attacks on Russia's civilian energy infrastructure.

The attack comes as Russian and US officials hold talks in Saudi Arabia about a possible ceasefire agreement.

Russia said on Monday it launched an attack on infrastructure owned by state-owned company Rosseti against Russia-controlled Svatovo gas distribution station in eastern Ukraine, and against underground gas storage facilities in Crimea.

On the other hand, Russia approved a moratorium on its own attack on Ukraine's energy infrastructure following a phone call between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump on Tuesday last week.

Ukraine has not announced a similar moratorium, but has said it will be willing to do so if a formal agreement setting appropriate terms for the deal is reached.

"By continuing his daily attack on Russian energy infrastructure, (President of Ukraine) Zelenskiy stressed his reluctance to reach an agreement and it is unlikely to trust any guarantees he might grant to comply with any possible deals," the Russian Defense Ministry said.
