JAKARTA - The flow of Lebaran 2025 homecoming began to be felt at various main terminals in Jakarta, including Kampung Rambutan Terminal, East Jakarta. Along with the approaching Eid al-Fitr 1446 Hijri, this terminal began to be crowded with travelers who were about to return to their hometowns.

A number of bus trips to various areas in Java, Sumatra, and Nusa Tenggara began to show an increase in the number of passengers. Homecomers choose to use buses because of the availability of tickets that are more flexible than other modes of transportation.

One of the travelers, Andri (43), a resident of Ciracas, East Jakarta, admitted that he chose to depart from the Kampung Rambutan Terminal because of his location which is close to where he lives.

"I go back to Lampung every year, usually a week before Lebaran. Taking a bus from here is easier and more comfortable," he said.

Another travelers, Satria (65), said that he and his wife left for Bandung from Kampung Rambutan Terminal because they were more practical.

"If you order a ticket for Eid, it's often full. So I've ordered it since last month so it's safe," he said.

Meanwhile, Mira (33), a travelers from Mataram, admitted that this was the first time she chose a bus for a long journey.

"Usually I take a plane, but this year I try to take the bus because it is more efficient. Airplane tickets can reach up to Rp. 2 million, while buses are only around Rp. 900 thousand. Although longer, the facilities are quite comfortable," he said.

Monitoring at the Kampung Rambutan Terminal shows a surge in the number of buses serving various destinations, such as Tasikmalaya, Bandung, Merak, Sumatra, to Nusa Tenggara. The DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency noted that as many as 2,846 intercity and inter-provincial bus fleets (AKAP) have been prepared to serve travelers during the 2025 Eid holiday.

In addition to Kampung Rambutan Terminal, other main terminals such as Pulogebang Integrated Terminal, Kalideres Terminal, and Tanjung Priok Terminal also experienced an increase in the number of passengers. To anticipate the surge in travelers, the government has also prepared aid terminals in Lebak Bulus, Muara Angke, and Grogol.

Monitoring of the homecoming flow is carried out through the 2025 Eid Transportation Integrated Command Post which runs from March 21 to April 11, 2025. This post is tasked with ensuring the smooth operation of Eid transportation and providing the best service for travelers.
