There Is A Meeting At Azis Syamsuddin's House To Meet Investigators With Walkot, The KPK Is Urged To Confiscate CCTV Footage

JAKARTA - The Coordinator of the Indonesian Anti-Corruption Society (MAKI) has urged the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to confiscate CCTV camera footage at the official residence of Deputy Chairman of the DPR, Azis Syamsuddin. This pressure arose in connection with the construction of the case which stated that there was a meeting at Azis Syamsuddin's house.

This meeting was held by Azis Syamsuddin, KPK investigator from the police, Stepanus Robin Pattuju and the Mayor of Tanjungbalai M Syahrial. At that time, it was said that Azis had introduced Stepanus to Syahrial, who was currently fighting at the KPK.

"Based on the foregoing, we ask the KPK to immediately confiscate the CCTV footage at Azis Syamsuddin's official residence at Jalan Denpasar Raya Number C3 / 3, Kuningan, South Jakarta," said MAKI Coordinator Boyamin Saiman to reporters, Monday, April 26. .

Apart from confiscating the footage at the official residence, the CCTV around the official residence of the Golkar Party politician was also asked to be confiscated. So, these items, in the future, could become evidence of the meeting.

"This confiscation should have obtained permission from the KPK Supervisory Board for its validity," he said.

Boyamin hopes that this confiscation will be carried out as soon as possible so that the evidence of the meeting is not lost. He did not hope that the failure in searching the Social Assistance Services case of the Ministry of Social Affairs would be repeated in this case.

He will also file a pretrial if the KPK ignores the request to confiscate the CCTV footage at Azis' house.

"We always back up the pretrial lawsuit if the request for confiscation of CCTV footage is ignored and not immediately carried out so that there is potential for the loss of evidence," he said.

Previously reported, the name Azis Amsuddin was widely mentioned in connection with the bribery case against the case termination which ensnared the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) investigator, AKP Stepanus Robin Pattuju.

Azis' involvement in this case began after he introduced Stepanus to M Syahrial, who was in a legal case related to the sale and purchase of positions in the Tanjungbalai City Government.

He allegedly knew Stepanus from his aide who was both from the Bhayangkara Corps.

"It is suspected that he knew the person concerned from AZ adjutant (Azis Syamsuddin) who is also a member of the National Police," said Acting KPK spokesperson for prosecution Ali Fikri to VOI, Friday, April 23.

However, this allegation will still be investigated further. Of course, this entails summoning these politicians.

"Later it will be further explored at the stage of examination at the investigation," he said.

There was also a meeting between Azis, Stepanus, and M Syahrial that took place in October 2020. The beginning of this collusion took place at the official residence occupied by Azis.

This meeting and introduction was suspected because M Syahrial had legal problems and was still at the level of investigation. Furthermore, to make sure that the case did not go up to the investigation, M Syahrial bribed Stepanus in the amount of Rp1.3 billion.
