Head Of Papua Regional BIN Died When Contact Shoot, Police: There Is No Place For KKB

JAKARTA - The National Police expressed condolences for the death of the Head of Papua Regional BIN, Brigadier General TNI I Gusti Putu Danny Nugraha Karya during a firefight with the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) Papua. The National Police emphasized that there was no place for a KKB in Papua.

"The National Police, of course, mourn the death of the best TNI AD (Indonesian National Army) soldier Brigadier General I Gusti Putu Danny Nugraha who died in carrying out his duties in Papua", said Head of Police Public Relations Division Brigadier General Rusdi Hartono at The Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police, Monday, April 26.

Brigadier General Rusdi ensured that the National Police and TNI had made optimal efforts to handle the KKB terror group in Papua. The joint team will continue to carry out operations against the KKB as instructed by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

"What is certain is that there is no place for the Armed Criminal Group in Papua", he said.

The joint TNI-Police team, Rusdi continued, would ensure the security of the people in Papua. KKB terror has recently occurred frequently in Beoga, Puncak Regency, Papua.

"The security apparatus of the TNI, Police and other apparatus work optimally to control the public safety and order problem and on the other hand the KKB can be handled optimally and can be held accountable for all their actions in Papua", continued Brigadier General Rusdi.

The Nemangkawi Task Force carried out an operation to crush KBB. According to General Rusdi, the National Police has not yet decided on additional personnel.

"It has been identified that the group that plays in the Puncak area is from the group, it has been identified, we just wait for its development", he said.

Previously, President Joko Widodo mourned the death of the Head of the Papua Regional BIN Brigadier General TNI I Gusti Putu Danny Nugraha Karya.

Kabinda Papua is reported to have died after a gun battle with KKB in Dambet Village, Beoga District, Puncak Regency, Papua on Sunday, April 25.

"On behalf of the people, nation, and country, I would like to express my deep sorrow for the families left behind. Let us pray for the spirit of the late Brigadier General I Gusti Putu Dani to get the best place in the side of Almighty God", Jokowi said in a press conference broadcast on the Presidential Secretariat YouTube account, Monday, April 26.

Jokowi said that the state would grant promotions. This was done because of the dedication given by I Gusti Putu Danny.

"The state will award a promotion to one level higher for the dedication, dedication, and sacrifice of Brigadier General I Gusti Putu Dani", said Jokowi.
