JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said examinations of former convicts of corruption cases in the electronic identity card procurement project (e-KTP) were needed.
Investigators are looking for new information to corroborate the actions of the suspect who has not been detained, including Paulus Tannos, who is in the extradition process from Singapore.
The anti-corruption commission this week has worked on Andi Agustinus, who is an entrepreneur and Sugiharto as the former Director of Population Administration Information Management (PIAK) of the Directorate General of Dukcapil.
"So further information is needed, there may be new information from brother AN and others," said KPK Director of Investigation Asep Guntur Rahayu to reporters quoted on Friday, March 21.
Asep said this information would facilitate the investigation of Paulus Tannos upon arrival in the country. "Later, after being extradited to Indonesia, we will continue the case," he said.
"Although until now we (still continue, ed) are trying (to carry out extradition, ed) but if he is already here we will arrest him and of course we will continue the examination again (the examination, ed)," continued Asep.
Previously reported, the KPK summoned Andi Agustinus or Andi Narogong as witnesses to the corruption case in the e-KTP procurement project on Wednesday, March 19. The former convict was investigated by the flow of money from the Director of PT Sandipala Arthapura, Paulus Tannos and the consortium of electronic ID card procurement projects (e-KTP) to members of the Indonesian House of Representatives.
"AN is being investigated regarding the commitment fee from the suspect PT and the consortium to members of the DPR," said KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardhika to reporters in a written statement, Thursday, March 20.
In this case, the KPK said that this e-KTP procurement project cost the state up to Rp2.3 trillion if it refers to a report from the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK).
This allegation of corruption has dragged the names of a number of high-ranking officials in the ministry, such as former Director General of Dukcapil Irman and former official at the Ministry of Home Affairs Sugiharto. In addition, there is also the name of former DPR Speaker Setya Novanto, former member of Commission III DPR Hanura faction Miryam S Haryani, former member of Commission III DPR Markus Nari.
