JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya plans to expand the checkpoints for supervision during the Large-Headed Social Task Force (PSBB) period. Previously, dozens of check points had been scattered at several points throughout the border area of DKI Jakarta.

This expansion is reasoned because several defensive areas of the capital, such as Depok, Bekasi, and Tangerang, have received permission from the Minister of Health Terawan Agus Putranto to implement the PSBB.

Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Yusri Yunus said that preparations to expand the check point points have already begun. However, this cannot be described in detail in relation to the location or which points will be determined later.

The reason is that the police are still waiting for the local government to issue or announce the implementation of the PSBB. For example, the City of Depok, Bekasi City, and Bekasi Regency will start the PSBB on Wednesday, April 15.

Meanwhile, Tangerang City, Tangerang Regency, and South Tangerang have already obtained permits to implement the PSBB. However, the timing of the implementation has not been announced.

"The draft already exists, our design already exists. Why are we just there? (Not yet submitted) Because it has just been implemented and will be disseminated later on Wednesday," said Yusri in Jakarta, Monday, April 13.

So far, there have been around 33 surveillance check points consisting of 11 points on the border, 13 points at the terminal, 5 points on the highway (toll), and finally 4 points in the city. Later at the check point, officers will reprimand motorized vehicle drivers who do not carry out the appeal.

When someone does not heed the regulations that have been issued, the officer will take several steps to take action. First, it will give a reprimand. Then, the violation will be asked to make a statement letter complying with the rules.

However, when these two acts do not provide a deterrent effect on the offenders, the police will provide stern punishment as a last resort.

"There is complete data, so if it has entered the data base twice, we can take sanctions. But that is the last resort," said Yusri.

For your information, DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan will impose Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) in the transportation sector related to operating hours and the number of passengers.

"With regard to public transportation in Jakarta, the number of passengers per public vehicle will be limited. Operating hours are limited to 6 am to 6 pm. This applies to all public vehicles operating in Jakarta," said Anies.

Then, Anies also said that later he would limit the number of passengers on public transportation by 50 percent of the vehicle capacity. This is to suppress and break the chain of spreading COVID-19.

"So if for example a bus can be filled with 50 passengers, then only 25 passengers can be in one bus. So we do not allow the full, but only 50 percent. So the hours are limited and the passengers are reduced," he said.
