The victim, Hu Xisong (69) was swept away by the coastal current at around 08.30 WITA. According to eyewitnesses, the victim was carried by the waves to the east.
"We received information that one foreigner was missing when he was swept away by the current on Nyang-Nyang Beach at 09.20 WITA and immediately moved eight personnel to the location," he said.
Basarnas Bali in the search effort was also assisted by reinforcements. During the day's search, they divided the two teams, namely those who searched the ground by combing along the shoreline from Nyang-Nyang Beach to the location where the victim was dragged by the current for approximately 600 meters.
