The Oil Case Considered Commission III Of The Indonesian House Of Representatives As Evidence Of Weak Food Task Force Supervision

JAKARTA - Member of Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives from the National Awakening Party (PKB) faction Abdullah highlighted the lack of supervision by the Food Task Force on the distribution of Oilita. The National Police was asked to intervene to resolve the fraud committed by the subsidized cooking oil producer.

"We ask the authorities to thoroughly investigate the fraud committed by the producers. So carefully investigate the networks that play in the case of reducing the Minya Kita dose because this has greatly caused public losses," Abdullah said in a written statement, Saturday, March 15.

Abdullah reminded the public not to continue to be victims. Anyone who commits fraud must be dealt with firmly, including dragging state officials.

Supervision of the distribution of cooking oil, continued Abdullah, must also be maximized. "Don't do it after it's crowded because the community's findings have just flocked everywhere," he said.

"Anticipation is better than overcoming so that people do not become victims," Abdullah continued.

Not only that, the overall guarantee of food products must also be ensured by the government. The needs of the community must be a priority, said the legislator.

"Especially in encouraging the implementation of more effective consumer protection laws so that people can file complaints and get compensation if they are harmed by fraudulent practices," Abdullah said.

"We hope that cases like this will not happen again in the future. Here the key is how all ministries and institutions work with the aim of prioritizing people's welfare," he explained.

It is known, Bareskrim Polri has named 14 company directors as suspects in connection with the violation of the producer of MinyaKita. This determination is based on a report related to the mismatch between the dose and the label in the package of cooking oil.

Bareskrim Polri revealed the mode used by the cooking oil production plant MinyaKita packaged 1 liter whose contents had been circumcised into 750-800 milliliters. This is because the machinery used for production has been arranged in an inappropriate amount.
