Governor Koster Plans To Allow DPRD Members Throughout Bali

Bali Governor I Wayan Koster plans to increase allowances for provincial and district and city DPRD members on the island of Bali.

This was conveyed by Koster when giving a speech at the Provincial, City and Regency Government Coordination Meetings in Bali, at the Nata Mandala Giri Cultural Center, Badung Regency Puspem, Bali, Wednesday, March 12.

Initially, Governor Koster appreciated the provincial and district and city DPRD members in Bali who were all present at the event.

"All of this compactness and cohesiveness must be maintained in the future to improve the performance of the council. Both from budgeting, supervision and absorption of people's aspirations to synergize in organizing the development of regencies and cities throughout Bali," said Koster.

However, Governor Koster saw that the burden on council members was very heavy because they had to serve their constituents who wanted to express their aspirations.

Then, referring to Government Regulation (PP) Number 18 of 2017 concerning financial and administrative rights of the leadership and members of the DPRD, the increase in allowances can be done.

"There are housing, transportation allowances, because the council members continue to be visited by their constituents and the burden is very heavy because being elected as members of the council must give a positive response," he said.

"So because of the housing allowance, transportation needs to be reviewed to be improved. It must be in accordance with PP Number 18, 2017, of course, an appraisal (action) must be carried out so that the numbers used can be accounted for," he said.

Therefore, his party will assign the Chairman of the Provincial and Regency DPRDs throughout Bali to immediately conduct an appraisal study to get a maximum pattern.

"To implement what we want and I suggest using a maximum pattern so that its performance is maximized and its performance is good," he said.
