JAKARTA - Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono encouraged the expansion of inter-business cooperation (B2B) to finalize cooperation agreements in various fields, when receiving an honorary visit from the French Ambassador to Indonesia Fabien Penone at the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday.

The Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the visit to discuss strengthening the strategic partnership between the two countries in commemoration of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and France which falls this year.

"At the meeting, Foreign Minister Sugiono welcomed the increase in high-level interactions between the two countries, including the planned visit of high-ranking Indonesian officials to France as well as the visit of French officials to Indonesia in the near future, which is expected to further strengthen cooperation in various fields, including defense, trade and investment, energy transition and the digital economy," said the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a statement, as quoted on March 12.

To improve economic relations between the two countries, Foreign Minister Sugiono has encouraged the expansion of inter-business cooperation (B2B) to open up new investment opportunities, especially in the downstream sector of the mineral industry, green infrastructure development, and strengthening the food industry, in line with President Prabowo's Asta Cita vision.

In addition to economic cooperation, the two parties also highlight the importance of multilateral cooperation to face global challenges together, such as in the context of food and nutrition security, geopolitical stability, as well as sustainable maritime and marine governance.
