JAKARTA - A militant group opened fire on passenger trains in southwest Pakistan on Tuesday. The attack injured a train driver, police and rail officials said.
The train was on its way from Quetta in Pakistan's southwestern Blochistan province to Peshawar in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa when it was fired.
Reported by Reuters on Tuesday, March 11, the Bloch Liberation Army (BLA), a militant separatist group, claimed responsibility for the attack. They took several people hostage from the train, including security forces.
