Floods Inundate 1,108 Houses In Pekanbaru, 1,066 Heads Of Families Fleeing

JAKARTA - Heavy rains that flushed the Pekanbaru, Riau area in the last few days have flooded 1,108 houses. The flooded houses are scattered in 11 locations. Therefore, BPBD Pekanbaru evacuated 1,006 heads of families (KK) to ensure the safety of the residents.

"Pekanbaru City BPBD has evacuated flood victims by deploying 90 Satgas personnel and 15 ASN BPBD Pekanbaru City, supported by 5 units of fiber boats belonging to BPBD Pekanbaru City, 3 units of cars and 4 units of motorbikes as well as the establishment of evacuation tents," said the Head of Pekanbaru City BPBD Zarman. He said the average area was flooded with varying heights, between 0.5 meters to 2 meters. At the flood location, the Pekanbaru City BPBD deployed a Disaster Management Task Force and coordinated with related regional apparatus organizations (OPD).

Pekanbaru BPBD, he said, also coordinates with the Provincial BPBD and the Riau Province Social Service. "Therefore, if the rain is still heavy, residents who are still in the house are advised to move to a refugee camp," he said.

The flooded housing is located in Bambu Kuning Village, Tenayan Raya District, due to the high rainfall intensity and the overflow of the Sail River water. Next, Mande Villa Housing, Jalan Cengkeh, Tangkerang Labuai, RT 001 RW 004, Bukit Raya District, Pekanbaru City.

"At the Mande Villa Cengkeh Housing, 98 families and 120 houses were recorded inundated," he said.

Then, Jalan Lembah Raya, Tangkerang Utara, District Bukit Raya, Pekanbaru City. Here 4 families and 4 houses are affected. Furthermore, Jalan Awareness, (Jalan Wicaksana, Jalan As Sakinah Jalan Karya Cipta) Tangkerang Labuai, RT 001 RW 010, Bukit Raya District, Pekanbaru City, with 160 families and 185 houses submerged.

The flood also submerged Jalan Sakuntala Gang Kencana V, VI & VII, Tangkerang Utara, RT 015 RW, Bukit Raya District, Pekanbaru City. At least 30 families and 45 houses were submerged. Then, Jalan Pesantren, Tangkerang Timur, Tenayan Raya District, Pekanbaru City, with 40 families and 60 houses submerged.
