JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung reviewed the availability and price of food at the Kramat Jati Main Market, East Jakarta. After monitoring, Pramono admitted that food prices in Jakarta had increased at the beginning of Ramadan.

However, entering the second week of Ramadan at this time, food commodity prices are stable again, if you look at the conditions at the Kramat Jati Main Market as the main food supply chain center in Jakarta.

"Indeed, on March 3-4 yesterday there was a shortage, so the price has increased slightly, but now the overall price is stable," said Pramono at Kramat Jati Main Market, East Jakarta, Monday, March 10.

In fact, Pramono revealed that the prices of a number of food commodities were falling. However, red cayenne pepper is still experiencing price increases.

"The green cayenne pepper actually fell, others, vegetables such as potatoes, then tomatoes, beans, and so on, the price is relatively stable," he said.

The former Cabinet Secretary also claimed that food stocks at the Kramat Jati Main Market were in sufficient condition until the implementation of Eid al-Fitr 1446 Hijriah.

"As the Governor of Jakarta, I believe that the availability of materials needed by the community to welcome fasting and Eid is more than sufficient. The price is well monitored, only for sure there will be fluctuations," he explained.

On the other hand, Pramono said that the DKI Provincial Government is continuing its low-cost food program. Market operations are carried out with ten trucks that will distribute basic materials directly to the people of Jakarta.

"We've done it with 10 trucks earlier. This is every day. It turns out that yes like it or not, like it or not, once the operation occurs, all residents can enjoy it, including residents outside Jakarta," explained Pramono.
