As A Result Of The Flood, 114 Schools Damaged In Bekasi Must Be Repaired Immediately

Then revealed, as many as 114 schools in the Bekasi area were reported to be damaged. The damage was evenly distributed, including PAUD, SD, SMP, SMA, and SLB.

As a result of the damage to the school building, said Lalu, the students had to be closed off. Moreover, the students were also victims of the flood, because their houses were flooded. School equipment, both books, stationery, and school uniforms were washed away by the flood.

Therefore, Lalu said, the school's damage must be a serious concern from all parties, including local governments, provinces, and the central government, in this case the Ministry of Elementary and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen).

"So, the school was damaged due to flooding, the students' houses were also flooded. It was complicated for students to suffer. All parties must intervene," said Lalu, Monday, March 10.

On the other hand, Lalu Ari appreciated the quick steps of the Minister of Elementary and Secondary Education (Mendikdasmen) Abdul Mu'ti who went directly to review the condition of schools affected by the flood and provide assistance to students. He also requested that repairs to damaged school buildings be carried out immediately.

"There must be clear data, for example how badly damaged the school building is and how much it costs to repair it," said the NTB PKB DPW.

According to him, local governments cannot do it alone in making improvements. For this reason, the central government must also step in to help solve the problem.

"School improvements must be carried out quickly so that students can return to learning. For this reason, the central and regional governments must work together to repair damaged schools, so that students can immediately enter learning," he said.

Jika nanti perbaikan gedung rusak tidak bisa selesai dengan cepat, tambah Lalu Ari, pemerintah harus menyiapkan tempat alternatif untuk belajar. Sehingga proses belajar mengajar tetap bisa berjalan.

Lalu Ari mengatakan, pihaknya juga akan turun ke lokasi banjir untuk memantau kerusakan sekolah. Hasil dari kunjungan itu, kata dia, akan menjadi bahan pembahasan di Komisi X DPR RI.
