BANDA ACEH - An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.4 rocked the Banda Aceh region on Friday at 19.42 WIB before the tarawih prayer.
Head of the Geophysics Station of the Aceh Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), Andi Azhar Rusdin, said this earthquake was located at 5.40 North Latitude, 94.28 East Longitude with a depth of 10 kilometers.
The epicenter was located 117 km southwest of Banda Aceh and the shock was felt in Banda Aceh, Sabang, and Pidie. However, BMKG said this earthquake did not have the potential for a tsunami.
