Man Who Died In The UKI Cawang Area Student Faculty Of Fisipol

JAKARTA - A man who was found dead in the area of the Indonesian Christian University (UKI) Cawang, East Jakarta, turned out to be a student of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (Fisipol) with the initials KW (22).

KW is thought to have died after experiencing a beating in the parking area of UKI's motorbike on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at around 20.00 WIB.

Allegedly Triggered By Misunderstanding

According to information gathered, before the incident, KW was gathered with his friends from the same faculty.

"Their information is that they are hanging out, then there are law school students who are offended by the victim's words. Fisipol students are chatting casually, maybe there are words that are considered offensive to the point of a fight," said one of the UKI students who declined to be named, Thursday, March 6.

In the incident, the victim was allegedly beaten, dragged, and beaten with a blunt object. In fact, the campus fence was reportedly broken due to the commotion.

Police Examine 11 Witnesses, Alleged Causes Still Being Investigated

This case is being investigated by the East Jakarta Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit (Satreskrim). So far, the police have examined 11 witnesses and collected evidence, including CCTV footage at the scene.

East Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Kombes Nicolas Ary Lilipaly, confirmed that the exact cause of death of the victim is still under investigation.

"We are still collecting evidence and investigating the statements of the witnesses," said Kombes Nicolas when confirmed on the evening of Thursday, March 6.
