Dozens Of Residents Of Lamunti Village In Central Kalimantan Are Poisoned After Breaking The Fast Together At The Miftahul Jannah Prayer Room

JAKARTA - The Kapuas District Health Office (Dinkes), Central Kalimantan Province (Kalteng) checked and took food samples after breaking the fast together at the Miftahul Jannah Mushola, Lamunti Village, Mantangai District, Wednesday, April 21.

This step was taken following the food poisoning experienced by dozens of residents who participated in the iftar ceremony. The total number of residents who participated in breaking the fast was around 30 people.

After eating, 15 of them complained of nausea and dizziness. As a result, 13 people had to be rushed to the Lamunti Community Health Center, while 2 people were hospitalized.

The Head of Disease Prevention and Control at the Kapuas District Health Office, Dr. Tri Setya Utami, said that this food sample was taken for epidemiological investigations.

"Food samples were also sent to a reference laboratory to follow up on the poisoning," said Tri Setya, quoted by Antara, Friday, April 23.

The Health Office has also carried out steps such as helping deliver medicines and health services. "Apart from the Health Office, assistance also came from the local Social Service, which lent 10 folding beds in anticipation of additional patients coming," he explained.

The Health Office team who visited the location for breaking the fast said that the food that was distributed for breaking the fast had been safe. Naman when eaten on Wednesday was the opposite.

"Around 22.00 WIB after eating food for breaking the fast, some residents started having symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, diarrhea and dizziness. So that people who were sick were immediately taken to the Lamunti Community Health Center to be treated," he said.

"For the current condition, some patients have started to improve and are gradually returning from the Lamunti Community Health Center," Try said.
