Police Investigate Sukabumi Court Staff Case Of UnP Internship Student Obsession

Sukabumi City Police conducted an investigation into cases of sexual harassment by employees/staf of the Sukabumi District Court (PN) against a student of the Faculty of Law, Nusa Putra University (UNP) Sukabumi.

"This investigation was carried out after the victim with the initials VM (21), a resident of Cikembar District, Sukabumi Regency, made a police report number LP/B/121/II/2025/SPKT/Sabumi City/West Java Police on Friday (28/2)," said Sukabumi City Police Public Relations Head AKP Astuti Setyaningsih as reported by ANTARA, Monday, March 2.

In his report, the victim claimed to be a victim of sexual harassment by Sukabumi District Court employees in the health room located in the office of the judiciary on Thursday (20/2).

The incident began when VM, who was an intern at the Sukabumi District Court Office on Bhayangkara Street, Gunungpuyuh District, Sukabumi City, suddenly fainted in front of the courtroom and was then taken to the health room and laid on the bed.

In the health room, the victim, who was in a semi-unconscious condition, was only accompanied by the alleged perpetrator with the initials ES. The condition of the deserted health room, allegedly used by ES to affect the body and sensitive parts of VM.

The obscene act of a Sukabumi District Court employee who has now been fired as a result of his actions, is known to the victim. After realizing that VM had told his colleague what he had experienced while in the health room.

According to Astuti, even though the alleged perpetrator had admitted and apologized and the victim apologized, the victim still wanted to continue the case to the legal realm by reporting ES to the Sukabumi City Police.

In addition to asking for information from the victim and a number of police witnesses, they also secured evidence in the form of clothes worn by the victim at the time of the incident.

"We are still developing this case and detaining the alleged perpetrator for the purposes of the investigation and investigation process," he continued.

The articles applied to Sukabumi District Court employees are Article 6a of Law Number 12 of 2022 concerning the crime of sexual violence and/or Article 290 of the Criminal Code which carries a maximum penalty of four years in prison.
