JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has adjusted the working hours of the state civil apparatus (ASN) within the DKI Provincial Government during Ramadan 1446 Hijri through the DKI Jakarta Regional Secretary Circular (SE) Number 8/SE/2025.
Head of the DKI Jakarta Regional Personnel Agency (BKD), Chaidir said, this policy came into effect on 1 Ramadan 1446 H, in accordance with guidelines from the Ministry of Religion (Kemenag).
In the SE, ASN working hours from Monday to Thursday start at 08.00 to 15.00 WIB, with rest times from 12.00 to 12.30 WIB. Then on Friday, working hours take place from 08.00 to 15.30 WIB, with rest times from 11.30 to 12.30 WIB.
Meanwhile, work units that provide direct services to the community for 24 hours, such as hospitals and firefighters, will apply a special work system or shift.
Chaidir said that the adjustment of working hours during Ramadan is in line with the government's efforts to respect the implementation of fasting for Muslims.
"The fasting month is not an obstacle for the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government apparatus in providing the best service to residents," he said.
This adjustment of working hours, continued Chaidir, provides flexibility for ASN in fasting without reducing work productivity. In addition, this policy is expected to maintain the quality of public services so that it remains optimal during the fasting month.
He appealed to all heads of regional apparatuses to optimize the role of direct superiors in ensuring that the implementation of tasks and quality of service to the community is effective, efficient and accountable.
"At the same time ensuring that public services continue to run well and are not disturbed," he said.
The Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) will hold an Isbat Session to determine the beginning of Ramadan 1446 Hijri on Friday, February 28, 2025. This trial is an important moment for Muslims in Indonesia because it determines when fasting will start.
The Director General of Islamic Community Guidance at the Ministry of Religion, Abu Rokhmad, explained that the isbat session will be held at the HM Rasjidi Auditorium, Ministry of Religion, Central Jakarta.
As in previous years, this trial will involve various parties, including representatives of Islamic community organizations, the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), Falak experts, as well as representatives from the House of Representatives (DPR) and the Supreme Court.
The trial will go through three main stages. First, the presentation of the position of the hilal data based on astronomical calculations or reckoning. This data will provide an overview of the possibility of the hilal being seen on that day.
