Cases Of Violence Against Women And Children In Jakarta Still High, DKI Provincial Government Opens Complaint Posts In Each District

"From January to February 26, 2025, there were 356 victims of violence against women and children," said Head of the DKI Jakarta PPAPP Service, Mochamad Miftahuloh Tamary in his statement, Friday, February 28.

Meanwhile, victims of violence throughout the year. 2024 is 2,041 people, consisting of 893 women and 1,148 children. In 2023, the number of victims of violence reached 1,682 people.

Therefore, the DKI Provincial Government is making efforts to prevent and deal with violence against women and children from upstream to downstream. One of them is by increasing the number of complaint posts to each sub-district.

"Adding 9 violent complaint posts, so that currently there are 44 posts spread across 44 sub-districts," said Miftahulloh.

The PPAPP Office, he continued, also provided services for the Family Consultation Center (PUSPA), as well as optimizing the existence of 324 RPTRAs to be used as POSA posts as receipts of initial complaints, as well as places for fulfilling children's rights to fill children's free time.

"We also carry out massive socialization, education, technical guidance and training targeting women assisted in women's prisons class IIA Jakarta, stakeholders, community institutions, education units, parents, and children," he explained.

Regarding efforts to prevent violence against women and children by 2025, the PPAPP Office will continue socialization, technical guidance, and training to prevent violence against women and children.

"Selain itu, mengampanyekan pencegahan kekerasan terhadap perempuan dan anak, dengan sasaran masyarakat dan melibatkan berbagai pihak seperti anak, orang tua, sekolah, lembaga masyarakat, perwakilan pemuda dari berbagai SKPD," jelas Miftahulloh.

Lebih lanjut, Miftahulloh menegaskan Pemprov DKI bersama aparat penegak hukum akan menindaklanjuti seluruh laporan kepolisian terkait kekerasan terhadap perempuan dan anak.

"If the perpetrator is a child, then it is necessary to restore justice and be diverted. However, if the perpetrator is an adult, then the police process must be carried out until the transfer of files to the prosecutor's office," he concluded.
