JABAR - The Cimahi Resort Police stated that the results of the investigation into the case of a Dharma Pertiwi vocational school student, West Bandung, with the initials MRD (17) who died while playing the suicide scene on the art stage was purely an accident.

The Head of the Cimahi Police, Adjunct Senior Commissioner of Police Tri Suhartanto, revealed that the results of the investigation showed that there was no intentional element in the incident that occurred on Thursday, February 20, at around 10:00 WIB on the school field.

"In the art performance, the victim used original property in the form of scissors which was strongly suspected to be the cause of the injured victim, resulting in death," said the Police Chief when releasing the case at the Cimahi Police Headquarters, Thursday, February 27, as reported by Antara.

Tri explained that at the time of the incident, the MRD victim was carrying out an art performance that brought a juvenile delinquency-themed drama.

In this scene, the MRD victim plays a student who has an unregistered pregnancy and tries to end her life.

According to witness testimony, initially the victim and his team used needles to break balloons mounted on the stomach and chest as a scene property.

However, because the needle was not sharp enough, in training the four victims decided to replace it with original scissors borrowed from their friend.

"When it stabbed into the left chest it didn't break, finally the victim tried to stab back. That's where the accident happened and of course we really regret it," he said.

The police chief emphasized that this incident should be a lesson for the world of education to be more selective in determining the concept of performing art in schools.

"We know that in cinemas alone there is an age limit for certain shows. In schools, shows like this should be considered more so as not to harm students," he said.

He also appealed to schools to be more careful in using hazardous properties in art performances and to avoid content that contains elements of violence.

"If possible in activities related to art performances, whatever is in schools, do not reflect violence," said Tri.
