JAKARTA - Commission II of the DPR responded to budget constraints related to the decision of the Constitutional Court (MK) which ordered re-voting (PSU) in 24 regions.

In a joint working meeting with the KPU, Bawaslu, and the Ministry of Home Affairs, Commission II of the DPR RI emphasized that the PSU budget came from the regional government budget. If it is not sufficient, it will be added from the APBN.
"Commission II of the DPR RI asks the central government through the Minister of Home Affairs to be able to propose budget funding for re-voting for regional head elections to the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia, which is sourced from the central government budget," said Deputy Chairman of Commission II, Dede Yusuf, reading the conclusion of the working meeting, Thursday, February 27.
Dede said that the source of the budget was possible to be taken from the APBN in accordance with Article 166 paragraph 1 of Law 10/2016.
"Funding for election activities is borne by the regional revenue and expenditure budget, and can be supported by the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget in accordance with the provisions of the legislation," he said.
Previously, the Ministry of Home Affairs revealed that only eight areas were available for the PSU. The eight areas are Bungo Regency, West Bangka Regency, North Barito Regency, Magetan Regency, Mahakam Ulu Regency, Kutai Kartanegara Regency, Siak Regency, Banggai Regency.
While the other 16 regions, the budget for PSU is not yet available. Commission II asked the Ministry of Home Affairs to immediately record and report the budget to be used for areas where the budget is not yet available.
