KPU Calls 4 PSU Regions Due To TSM Violations In Pilkada, One Of Them Is Serang Regency

JAKARTA - The chairman of the Indonesian KPU, Mochammad Afifuddin, said that the four regions that would be re-voting (PSU) were related to the issue of structured, Systematic, Massive (TSM) violations in several regional elections. One of them is in the Serang Regional Election.

This was conveyed by Afifuddin in a joint meeting with Commission II of the DPR and the Ministry of Home Affairs at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday, February 27.

"What makes this PSU happen is a matter of TSM or allegations and evidence of violations deemed TSM committed by a pair or candidate pair," said Afifuddin.

Afifuddin revealed that the four areas are Serang Regency, Parigi Moutong Regency, Banggai Regency, Mahakam Ulu Regency.

"This happened at 4 points. Serang Regency, Parigi Moutong Regency, Banggai Regency, Mahakam Ulu Regency," he said.

Previously, the decision of the Constitutional Court (MK) was widely discussed which found the alleged involvement of the Minister of Villages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions, Yandri Susanto, in winning his wife, Ratu Rachmatuzakiyah, in the Serang Pilbup.

The Constitutional Court canceled the victory of the Ratu Rachmatuzakiyah-Muhammad Najib Hamas pair, with one consideration that Yandri was present at the working meeting of the All-Indonesian Village Government Association (Apdesi) of Serang Regency on October 3, 2024.

However, Yandri has denied the allegations. The PAN politician emphasized that on that date he had not yet served as a minister.

Yandri also responded to allegations that he attended a haul and Santri Day event at a boarding school in order to support his wife.

"I make sure, convey to my fellow journalists on October 3, I have not become Minister of Villages, because he was inaugurated on October 21, 2024," he said at a press conference in Tebet, South Jakarta, Wednesday, February 26.
