Most recently, the head of SMAN 1 Cianjur was officially dismissed regarding the study tour activities to Malang and Bali. This decision was taken after a circular letter from the governor's acting (pj) expressly prohibiting schools in West Java from traveling on study tours outside the region.

This firm action shows Dedi Mulyadi's commitment to fixing various problems that are troubling the public regarding school policies.

After being officially inaugurated as Governor of West Java, Dedi Mulyadi immediately took concrete steps by disabling the principal of SMA Negeri (SMAN) 6 Depok. This decision was taken after the school continued to hold a study tour to Surabaya, Malang, and Bali, even though there was an official ban from the provincial government.

"Today I immediately started working. I have decided to deactivate the head of SMAN 6 Depok for violating the governor's circular which prohibits students from traveling outside the province," said Dedi Mulyadi.

According to him, various policies in the school environment that do not comply with the rules have caused unrest in the community. Therefore, he is committed to improving education management in West Java, including in terms of the Indonesia Smart Program (PIP), school levies, and ban on study tours.

A similar case also occurred at SMAN 1 Cianjur. The principal of Agam Suprianta is officially disabled after the school he leads continues to hold a study tour to Malang and Bali. This decision was taken because the activity violated the governor's circular regarding the prohibition of study tours outside the province.

Head of the West Java Regional VI Education Office (KCD), Nonong Winarni, confirmed that the Cianjur SMAN 1 group had returned from their trip. He emphasized that his party fully supports the governor's policy regarding this prohibition.

"In principle, we agree with Governor Dedi Mulyadi's policy regarding the prohibition of study tours," said Nonon on Wednesday.

As a consequence of the violation, Agam Suprianta was disabled from his position and summoned to KCD Pendidikan Wilayah VI on Tuesday (25/2/2025). However, Noong emphasized that the decision was not dismissal, but only deactivation.

In addition, KCD also found information that SMAN 1 Cilaku had planned to hold a study tour to Yogyakarta. However, the plan was finally canceled after receiving a ban from the KCD.

Sebagai solusi bagi SMAN 1 Cilaku, KCD menawarkan dua pilihan, yakni mengembalikan uang yang telah dikumpulkan dari siswa atau mengganti kegiatan study tour dengan kunjungan edukatif di dalam wilayah Jawa Barat, seperti ke Kampung Naga di Tasikmalaya.

Sementara itu, saat hendak dimintai keterangan mengenai penonaktifannya, Kepala SMAN 1 Cianjur, Agam Suprianta, tidak memberikan tanggapan dan tidak ditemukan di sekolah.
