West Jakarta Erafone Burglarized, Samsung S23 Ultra And IPhone 15 Taken Away

JAKARTA - A perpetrator with the initials A was arrested by residents and shop employees after being caught breaking into an Erafone mobile phone shop in the West Jakarta area. In the action, the perpetrator brought a bag to put the stolen cellphone.

"The evidence that was secured was a bag of a place to put the stolen cell phones in beige color containing 5 units of Samsung S23 Ultra mobile phones, iPhone 15 plus, Samsung A35 and Samsung A55," said West Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Twedi Aditya to reporters, Wednesday, February 22.

Even in the action, the perpetrators were classified as reckless. The perpetrator went to Erafone shop alone with a bag for the stolen cellphone.

"Then the perpetrator entered the shop and saw that there was a cell phone on the display, then pulled the cellphone and cut the alarm cable until the alarm cable rang," he said.

The perpetrator's action was finally discovered by the shopkeeper and began to monitor the perpetrator's movements. Although the action was known, the perpetrator casually returned to visit another cellphone display at the shop.

The perpetrator again stole another mobile phone at the Erafone shop and the perpetrator tried to escape.

Seeing the perpetrator's reckless actions, the shop employee then chased the perpetrator and shouted at the perpetrator 'thief'. Residents who knew there was a scream, ended up chasing the perpetrator.

However, during the pursuit, the perpetrator took out a knife to scare the residents who were chasing him. Even so, the perpetrator was finally caught by the residents.

Residents who were upset had time to judge the perpetrators until they were battered. Then the perpetrator was arrested after members of the West Jakarta Metro Police came to the scene.

"The victim suffered material losses of up to 58 million rupiah. The motive for the perpetrator to own the victim's belongings was to be sold for personal purposes," he said.

From the results of urine checks, the police did not find any drug content from the perpetrator's urine.

"It has been examined that there is no use of drugs. The suspect is charged with Article 365 of the Criminal Code with a penalty of 9 years," he said.
