Rano Karno Ensures That The IPA Buaran III Project Will Be Completed Soon

JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Rano Karno is targeting the construction of the Buaran III Water Processing Installation (IPA) to ensure that it will be completed in the near future, so that it can be inaugurated immediately.

IPA Buaran III is scheduled to be completed in April 2025. From this IPA, Perumda PAM Jaya will supply drinking water to residents in the Kramat Jati District, Makasar District, Cipayung District, Ciracas District, Pasar Rebo District, and parts of Jatinegara District.

Rano emphasized that this project is in line with the promise of DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung who is committed to solving water problems in Jakarta until 2030.

"This is the most important basic service, water. Because the need for water is not only for bathing, but for drinking," said Rano Karno to reporters at IPA Buaran III, Duren Sawit, East Jakarta, Tuesday, February 25.

Rano said that the construction of IPA Buaran III carried out by PAM Jaya as one of the commitments of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government in fulfilling 100 percent water coverage services which is projected to be completed by 2030.

"And now we are waking up, indeed if we heard from the projection, 2030 has just finished," said the man who is familiarly called Doel.

Rano assessed that the IPA Buaran III project was running smoothly according to the track. He hopes that the Jakarta residents' drinking water service will be 100 percent by 2030.

"Yes, if I look at (IPA Buaran III) like today, including (the progress) is very fast," he said.

The IPA Buaran III project has a capacity of 3000 lps (liters per second) and will provide clean water services to 300 thousand new connections. The plan, IPA Buaran III will be inaugurated in April 2025.

In addition to IPA Buaran III, PAM Jaya is also building two other IPAs, IPA Pesanggrahan and Ciliwung. If it operates, the piped water distributed from the two IPAs can be directly drunk from the taps in people's homes.

PAM Jaya Service Director Syahrul Hasan said, water from the Pesanggrahan and Ciliwung IPA can be drunk directly because the network installed to flow water to customers uses a new pipe.

"Especially the IPA Pesanggrahan and later the Ciliwung IPA, Jakarta residents can drink this directly. Why? Apart from the new IPA, the network has been prepared for new, food graded. This is staking, moving all processes in that direction," said Syahrul some time ago.
