COVID-19 Update As Of April 22: New Cases 6,243, Deaths Raised 165

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 78,593 specimens were examined today. As a result, there were 6,243 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia reached 1,626,812 people and 101,191 active cases," he was quoted as saying from the Ministry of Health's data, Thursday, April 22.

Today's cases increased by 5,993, so that a total of 1,481,449 people recovered. Then, the confirmed positive cases who died increased by 165 people and the total was 44,172 people.

The province with the most new cases is in West Java with 1,358 cases and a total of 269,707 cases. Followed by DKI Jakarta which has 1,266 new cases with a total of 179,816 cases. Central Java has 600 new cases and a total of 400,508 cases. Then, Riau has 419 new cases and a total of 39,520 cases.

The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to Central Java with an increase of 1,633 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an increase of 1,338 recovered cases, DKI Jakarta with an increase of 651 recovered cases, and DI Yogyakarta with an increase of 274 recovered cases.

There is 1 province that reported no new cases today. The province that reported zero new cases was Maluku.

In addition, the number of specimens that had been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigen reached 14,090,518.

"Positive results per number of specimens examined or this week's positivity rate of 16.77 percent," he wrote.

For the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, it was recorded at 63,422 people. Currently, 510 districts / cities from 34 provinces have COVID-19 cases.

Furthermore, there are currently 11,432,498 people who have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 6,488,197 vaccines for the second dose. Meanwhile, the total target of vaccination stages 1 and 2 reached 40,349,051 people.
